Martian Architecture 51
Martian Architecture 51
The vast majority of Martian architecture is designed to take advantage of the planet's scarce resources. Houses are built small and close together, with large windows to let in light and heat. The main room of most houses is full of vegetation - either hydroponically grown or imported from Earth. Walls are often decorated with tapestries or murals depicting scenes from Mars' long history, while floors are usually covered in soft carpets or rugs. Sci-fi elements are also popular in Martian design, as they help to create a sense of wonder and make homes feel more spacious than they actually are. Many people have personal holo-screens that display images or footage from Earth, while others use them to view movies or play video games. Cinematic lighting is used extensively throughout the planet, both inside and outside homes. This creates an otherworldly atmosphere that many Martians find comforting after a long day exploring the red desert landscape outside their front doorsteps.
