Martian Lotus 04

The Martian lotus flower is a beautiful, delicate creature that blooms in the late afternoon. The petals are a deep red, almost burgundy color and they are covered in a light dusting of pink pollen. The stamen of the flower is a deep yellow and it extends out from the center of the flower like a tiny sun. The Martian lotus flower grows near bodies of water on Mars and this particular one is situated on the edge of a lake that is surrounded by red rocks. As the sun sets, the sky turns a deep orange color and the shadows of the rocks stretch out across the lake. The Martian lotus flower basks in the last few rays of sunlight before closing up for the night.
