As the sun sets on the Martian lake, the lotus flower begins to close up for the night. The petals are a deep red, almost purple in color. They are so large that they completely cover the center of the flower. Each one is smooth and sleek, with a glossiness that makes them look wet even though they are not.

The petals curl inwards towards each other, creating a beautiful shape that is both delicate and strong. As they close, the central part of the flower becomes hidden, creating an illusion of a sphere made entirely of petals.
