Martian Lotus 28

The soft red light of the setting sun casts a warm glow over the Martian landscape. In the distance, the jagged peaks of the Valles Marineris cut sharply against the sky. Closer to where you stand, a still lake reflects the fiery colours of dusk. And in its calm waters, a lone lotus flower blooms, radiant and serene.

Its petals are stained crimson by the light of the setting sun, and they fan outwards in a gentle arc. The slender stem that supports it is green and delicate, almost invisible against the dark water. The lotus stands alone in this quiet place, its beauty a source of peace in an otherwise desolate world.
