Martian Meditation 06

The temple is a place of peace and tranquility, a refuge from the hustle and bustle of daily life. It is here that the Martians come to meditate, to reflect on their lives and find inner calm. The Martian air is red and dusty, but inside the temple it is still and serene. The walls are lined with statues of ancient Martian gods, their faces turned up to the sky in eternal contemplation. In the center of the room there is a large stone statue of Buddha, his hands resting in his lap in perfect repose. The Martians sit cross-legged on cushions around him, closing their eyes and clearing their minds. They breathe deeply, letting go of all thoughts except for those of peace and love. For a moment they are one with the universe; then they open their eyes and return to everyday life rejuvenated.
