The Martian was a cute little creature, with big eyes and a round body. It was engraved on a gold coin, and it shone brightly in the sunlight. The Martian seemed to be smiling at me, as if it knew I would find its image amusing. I had found the coin in an old shop near my house, and I loved it immediately. I showed it to all my friends, who were also amused by the comical creature. We would often make up stories about what adventures the Mars could have been on before ending up on our planet Earth. The Mars soon became my lucky charm, always bringing me good luck when I took exams or went for job interviews. Whenever things weren't going well in my life, just looking at the happy little face of the Martian cheered me up immensely. In fact, I even started referring to him as "my friend from Mars." One day while showing off my collection of coins to a new friend, she commented that she wished her own currency back home featured such charming creatures instead of boring pictures of presidents or buildings like most do here on Earth!
